As SVP Internal and External Engagements, the role provides direct support to the CEO, ensuring the franchise is positioned effectively with government stakeholders, regulators, industry associations, and key external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor political, regulatory and legislative developments relevant to the financial sector and assess implications to market for the bank.
- Support the management of relationships with key stakeholders, including Bank Indonesia, OJK, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economic, Ministry of Investment, Ministry of Trade, industry associations, and relevant Embassies.
- Project-manage government engagement events and meetings.
- Coordinate in preparing policy analysis, briefing materials and meeting notes for senior executives, working together with the relevant SMEs.
- Contribute to the development of advocacy positions and coordinate the bank’s responses to consultations.
- Assist in issue management by working with Legal, Compliance, Risk and Communications to ensure consistent and well-governed engagement.
- Engage interlocuters or analysts to derive insights and validate the bank’s understanding of the macro environment or stakeholder interests.
- Contribute to development of policy advocacy strategy and internal capacity building for government engagement.
- Maintain high standards of conduct in all external interactions in line with the bank’s policies and values.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- 5–8+ years’ experience in public affairs, regulatory policy or government relations. Experience in financial services or working with financial regulators is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of Indonesia’s regulatory and policy environment.
- Political acumen, with ability to navigate public institutions across policy areas and hierarchy.
- Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English, with the ability to present complex issues clearly.
- Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders and exercise sound judgement.
- Ability to drive and manage projects and engage stakeholders independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix environment and manage sensitive information appropriately.
