We are currently assisting our client, a well-established multinational company in the chemical distribution and specialty ingredients industry, in searching for a Supply Chain Manager to support their business operations in Indonesia.
Position Overview
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for ensuring that the end-to-end supply chain operations are running smoothly, safely, and cost-efficiently. This role works closely with the Commercial, HR, and Finance teams to resolve supply chain–related matters and to ensure full compliance with SH&E standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Operations
- Oversee the full supply chain operations in Indonesia, including purchasing, warehousing, and logistics activities.
- Ensure smooth and efficient daily operations while maintaining cost efficiency and service level performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain functions.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
- Ensure SH&E and quality compliance across warehouse operations and supply chain functions.
- Maintain and improve the company's safety culture.
- Ensure full compliance with import/export regulations, including managing PPJK relationships and coordinating export documentation and permits.
Inventory & Planning
- Ensure healthy inventory levels and drive action plans to reduce SLOB risks.
- Implement and sustain the S&OP process to improve forecasting accuracy and demand planning.
- Support capacity planning and demand forecasting to ensure business growth and operational efficiency.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage and negotiate with 3PL providers, overseas and local vendors, and freight forwarders.
- Oversee communication and negotiation with principals/suppliers.
- Work closely with the Commercial team to support accurate cost price estimation.
Warehouse & Logistics Management
- Oversee warehouse management operations and ensure SOPs are properly implemented.
- Monitor logistics operations and ensure on-time reporting and operational performance.
- Review and approve overtime plans, freight forwarder billing, and supply chain-related expenses.
Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Oversee Indonesia supply chain reporting and ensure all reports are submitted on time.
- Lead monthly Sales & Supply Chain meetings to review operational performance, inventory health, forecasts accuracy, and key operational challenges.
- Support company projects and strategic supply chain initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 - 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, particularly in purchasing, warehousing, and material planning.
- Bachelor's degree in any field (Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering will be an advantage).
- Experience in supply chain operations within a distribution company, preferably in the chemical / specialty ingredients / raw material industry.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Experience handling import/export processes (PPJK license holder will be an advantage).
- Certified in safety will be an advantage.
- Fluent in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong initiative, able to work under pressure, and capable of managing a high volume of work.
- Energetic, disciplined, and able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
