Geothermal RD&E

Ecolab is seeking a Geothermal RD&E in the Water Research, Development and Engineering (RD&E) Group. Our teams develop and deploy solutions comprising chemistry, digital, equipment and automation platforms to help customer grow their businesses while saving water, reducing costs, reducing energy consumption and minimizing waste.   The diversity and the depth of the applications make this a rich environment for innovation and collaboration.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and/or deploying customer process-centric and water solutions. These solutions will emphasize chemistry solutions, digital, as well as sensors and control integration with chemical treatment.  The responsibilities include:

• Lead/Collaborate in innovation development (chemistry, digital, and equipment) in the geothermal field:
  • Establish lab simulation system and run laboratory work for solution screening, and conduct customer field trials
  • Analyze the test data, document and report-out the results in a clear and concise manner
  • Provide technical insight on technical hurdles in innovation development
• Build close collaboration with both regional and global counterparts, as well as with the sales, marketing and ITC teams
• Provide advanced technical support to sales and customer which includes but not limited to,  training, trouble-shooting, technical  exchange, etc.
• 10-20% travel required
• Develop the best practice application guidelines
• Maintain lab safety and lab instruments

Basic Qualifications:

• M.S. in Geothermal or Geochemistry with B.S. in chemistry/chemical engineering
• Min. 5 years of geothermal or geochemistry experience
• Self-starter with great initiative and drive
• Solid communication skills (oral and written) with demonstrated initiative and an innovative spirit

Preferred Qualifications:

• Lab hands-on experience is highly preferred
• Knowledge and hands on experience in reservoir modelling (Though2) or geochemistry modelling (GWB/Phreeqc/Watch/Though-REACT; etc.) or RTT and its modelling software (Solvaq-Chiller)
