POSITION SUMMARY
Prepare and produce bakery and pastry items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. Supervise daily bakery operations, including baking schedules, food preparation, and product finishing. Regulate and monitor temperatures of ovens, proofers, and bakery equipment to ensure optimal results. Ensure proper handling, storage, thawing, portioning, and presentation of bakery items. Maintain food production logs and monitor quality and quantity of all products prepared.
Communicate effectively with the Executive Chef or Sous Chef regarding production levels, excess items for daily specials, and inventory shortages. Coordinate with Food & Beverage service teams to communicate bakery specials, menu changes, and out-of-stock items. Ensure all bakery products meet established standards for taste, texture, freshness, and visual appeal. Prepare cold desserts and specialty bakery items as required.
Assist management in supervising bakery associates, including training, scheduling, coaching, performance evaluation, and motivation. Serve as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, culinary excellence, and adherence to company standards. Follow all safety, hygiene, and security policies; report maintenance issues, accidents, or unsafe conditions promptly. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and certifications.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members and other departments to support operational success. Anticipate guest needs and uphold service excellence standards. Perform physical duties including standing for extended periods, bending, lifting, and handling items up to 25 pounds. Perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by supervisors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
Related Work Experience: At least 3 years of related work experience.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
